Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly do you do?
I turn your snapshots and photographs into a beautiful collage that will become a keepsake.

How do you create the collage?
I scan your photos to create a high quality digital copy. Your original photos are returned unharmed with the collage. I color correct the digital copies, retouch them if necessary, enlarge or reduce them in size, and then combine them to form a beautiful collage.

I have a box filled with photos. Which photos would work best?
Any photo that is sharp will work very well. Even if they are faded or if the color isn't good, I can use them. You'd be amazed at how much an old photo can be brought "back to life". Prints should be between wallet size and 8"x10". Photos can be black and white, sepia (brown), or full color. Polaroid pictures are not accepted. Rule of thumb, the larger the photo and the better the image quality, the better the results.

Some of my photos have scratches and dust spots. Can those be used?
Basic retouching is included and I can easily remove small scratches and dust spots at no extra charge.

Can you take someone out of a photo?
Sure, that's easy. Just send a note along with your photo and tell me who needs to be removed. I can also take objects out of a background, or do other similar enhancements. If you're not sure, just ask.

Can I use photos taken by a professional photographer?
Photos taken by professional photographers are copyrighted and I need permission to use them. However, most studios will grant permission to use their photos in collages. For example, Olan Mills has a copyright release form online, and will just charge a small fee. Most photographers will agree to have their photos used in collages, particularly if it's a service they don't offer.

How much does a collage cost?
A 11x14 collage from 6 photos is only $99. Add $10 for each additional photo. So, for example a collage with 12 photos would be $159. That includes scanning, color correction, retouching and an 11x14 final print on archival watercolor paper.
Complete pricing information can be found here.

Are there any shipping charges?
Your collage is shipped in a sturdy package via Priority Mail at no extra charge within the USA. There will be an additional charge for shipping to destinations outside the USA..

How long does it take to get my collage?
Once I receive your photos, you'll have your finished collage usually within 10 days. When your photos arrive, I will call or email to discuss your photos and project. A proof will be sent via email within 5 days, and once approved, and balance of payment received, it takes one more day to print your collage, and then it's in the mail to you the following day.

I have a specific layout in mind. Is that ok?
Of course. Just number the back of each photo and send a simple sketch indicating where you want each photo to go. Usually, my customers just indicate 1 or 2 of the most important photos, and I"ll take it from there. But your instructions can be as simple or as detailed as you want.

I would like you to make a collage for me. What should I do next?
Send an email. We can discuss your project in detail and I can answer any questions you may have and confirm the price with you. Then send your prints via postal mail, Fedex, or UPS. If you have digital files, you can email them to me or send them on a CD.

Do you guarantee your work?
I offer a very simple guarantee. You will absolutely love your collage or just return it for a complete and prompt refund - no questions asked.
